Ok…where did I leave off?

Chun Mung Yiu takes Hon Pak along to find the guard that “killed” him. While spying on him, Hon Pak expresses his admiration but was very timid of how she would react. His candidness made her uneasy. CMY suddenly feels sad and could sense that her master just passed away. Usually calm and peaceful-minded, she finds herself emotionally volatile when near Hon Pak. At this point, neither of them are aware that their inner powers are mutually attracted to and could offset each other - CJS’s inner power (aka demonous embryo) interferes with CMY’s “Sword-Heart Connection”, and vice versa. They find out that Fong Ye Yue is behind the conspiracy that lead to Hon Pak’s death. CMY realized that FFY wants to use the stolen sabre incident to create conflict among the virtuous forces and leaves while Hon Pak is still fighting. Hon Pak took it as a rejection.

Assassins came after Hon Pak one after another. One of the assassins, Fa Gai Yue, was a master at seduction and exploit men’s yang during sex to make herself powerful and beautiful. Initially, she wanted to sleep with him once and kill him afterwards. Hon Pak was well aware of her background and motive but still couldn’t curb his sexual curiosity (he was a virgin, til now). While pursuing HP, she became truly attracted to him. Later, Hon Pak’s genuineness made her fall madly in love with him. Betraying FYY is a deadly gamble, but she was willing to put her life at stake and told Hon Pak to run away. She feels she owes Pong Ban an explanation and must return to his side (no love interest involved). Pong Ban understands that the demonous embryo makes HP an irresistable character. Fa Gai Yue was told to stay at Pong Ban’s side in Mongolia and is not to interfere with FYY’s plans.

Fan Leung Gik helps Hon Pak to disguise as the Korean ambassador. They head to the courthouse saying that they were robbed. They successfully dodged FYY’s network of assassins because the governor deployed a troop to protect them on their way to the capital city. They board a cruise ship and find that Long Fan Wan was on board with Jiu Ha and her husband. Her husband was on his way to fill a high government position in the empirial court.

Hon Pak explains the weird urges that he’s experiencing to Long Fan Wan and that it’s gotten even more intense after his night with Fa Gai Yue. LFW explains that the demonous embyro is trying to communicate through the familiar emotional state that is shared during sex (kinda like how Pong Ban used despair to communicate with FHL’s inner power). In order to fully merge the two realms, Hon Pak must continue to experiment with different women. Hon Pak was hesistant at first, but LFW told him that he must take charge of the demon or it may take control of him. So he must forget about the social issues and live as free as he could so that the embyro could grow freely. He spent the most hilarious and erotic few weeks on the ship with his 3 wives (yes he got 3 wives by the time he reaches the capital, one of course is Jiu Ha).

During the cruise, Long Fan Wan leaves for Seung Sau Fu because they were under attack. He meets CMY there and they fend off the enemies, FYY’s allies. Fung Hang Lit got injured and Princess Seung Sau used the Seung Sau Method to treat him. He regains his powers and marries Princess Seung Sau, her maid Guk Sin Lin, and another maid Bak Sou Gok — the 3 ladies had a pact to marry the same husband. LFW and CMY find out that Fong Ye Yue is heading to the capital so they leave to meet up with Hon Pak. FHL was suppose to go also, but then Lou Gau Clan was under attack and he was closer to them. He heads over to help Chik Cheng Jing. During this battle, many Lou Gau Clan fighters died and FYY’s allies took over the Dung Ting Lake. FHL lost his wife Bak Sou Gok.

(From this point forward, FHL becomes less important and quite uninteresting IMO. To follow the story from the series’ point of view, remember that FYY is also part of Ray’s character. I would say that Ray’s character is 80% FYY and only 20% FHL. And, I do like FYY more than FHL. But for both characters in the novel, it’s more of action during battles and not a lot of drama plot. Thus, you may feel that my summary has less to say of them than Hon Pak. The battles that involve them are frequent but hard to summarize.)

Chun Mung Yiu also got injured by a monk during that battle and could live no more than 100 days. She admits that she was distracted when she suddenly thought of Hon Pak. Long Fan Wan tells her that the demonous seed that is growing in Hon Pak could save her and if they use the Seung Sau Method her chances of surviving is even greater. LFW and CMY meet up with Hon Pak before he reaches the capital. On the ship, CMY explains that she needs his help to live beyond 100 days. She has only one chance to live and all the circumstances must be perfect when they use the Seung Sau Method. He’s so concern that he pledges to follow every word she says. She promises that she will marry him but Hon Pak does not have much faith in keeping her by his side. He knows her agenda and is constantly reminded by his gut feelings that she will eventually leave him.
