CHARACTER BIOGRAPHIES (FROM THE NOVEL):

Long Fan Wan (played by John Chiang): No. 1 of the “Black List” (top 10 fighters of the dark forces); 1st generation Lo Gau Clan deputy; loved his wife deeply and mourned for her 3 years after her death; married a lady that closely resembled her near the end — weapon: sword — personality: righteous, sensitive, loves to drink

Hon Pak (played by Bosco Wong): 18-year-old servant of Hon family; destined owner of the Eagle Sabre; average looking and didn’t know martial arts in the beginning; inherited Chek Jun Sun’s inner power that changed his personality and physique; uses sexual intercourse to enhance his inner power; became Ming emperor’s sunset buddy; became “ambassador” of all political and Wulin parties; had 7 wives and many lovers; loved by most women in the novel — weapon: sabre — personality: affectionate, witty, candid, but obnoxious when Fan Leung Gik is present

Fung Hang Lit (played by Raymond Lam): Well-known young elite fighter; severed from his master Lai Yuek Hoi (on Black List) to join the virtuous forces; became instrument to enhance Pong Ban’s skills; joined Hon Pak in fighting Mongolians; married Princess Seung Sau and her maids — weapon: long spear — personality: handsome, righteous, a real gentleman and devoted husband (at least compared to all the other men in the novel)

Fong Ye Yue (a part of Raymond’s character): aka Young Sorcerer; Pong Ban’s disciple; descendent of Kubla Khan; devoted to re-instate the Yuan Empire at any expense; admired Chun Mung Yiu; employed an unpredictably powerful group of fighters of many ethnicities — weapon: a pair of blades — personality: charismatic yet ruthless at times

Chik Cheung Jing (this character is not part of the series, but I suspect he was merged into Bosco’s character): 2nd generation elite fighter of Lo Gau Clan; became godson of Kin Loh (on Black List); joined Hon Pak in fighting Mongolians; became Yin Wong’s bodyguard; also married several ladies — weapon: sabre — personality: very masculine, outspoken, borderline-obnoxious at times

Chun Mung Yiu (played by Charmaine): No. 1 of the “Beauty List” (top 10 beauties of Wulin); elite fighter of Chi Hong Jing Jai; inherits the responsiblity to protect the Ming Dynasty; became an important political figure; married Hon Pak to heal herself after a fatal battle; chose to achieve enlightenment at the expense of love — weapon: sword — personality: always calm and perceptive

Hui Ye Yuet (played by Sharon): No. 3 of the Beauty List; daughter of Hui Yuek Mo (a feudal king); finely trained by her father in martial arts; puppy-love of Yin Wong’s son; falls in love with Hon Pak through her father’s arrangement; became one of Hon Pak most beloved wife — weapon: whip — personality: spoiled, high maintenence, and always jealous
